Fire Police
Full Description
Trains fire police to perform their duties more effectively. It includes defining and interpreting Trains fire department members appointed as fire police to perform their duties safely and effectively. It includes explanation of applicable state laws, general duties, maintaining safe conditions at an emergency, traffic direction and control, pre-planning, and various laws of interest to the fire service. Under the provision of General Municipal Law, Section 209-c, this course, as approved by OFPC, must be successfully completed by every department-appointed fire police member who was/is appointed after September 1, 1980.  Fire Police members can exercise their duties upon completion of this course and having received and submitted to DCJS proof of Oath of Office pursuant to Executive Law 845.
