LIVE FIRE INSTRUCTOR IN-CHARGE (NFPA 1041-2019 ED.) (01-05-0105)
Full Description
The Live Fire Instructor-in-Charge course prepares candidates to lead live-fire training as the instructor-in-charge. Students, as part of this course, write instructional objectives, prepare pre-burn plans, conduct a pre-burn briefing, make instructor assignments, and document the live-fire training evolutions. During this course students discuss conducting live-fire training in acquired structures, Class A and Class B burn facilities, and using non-structural fire training props. This course is designed to meet the competencies, and job performance requirements, found in Chapter 8 of NFPA 1041 – Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Professional Qualifications (2019 edition). In addition, students receive training in NFPA 1403 – Standard on Live Fire Evolutions to help ensure that live fire training evolutions are conducted with participant safety as the primary consideration. Students take part in, and are required to complete, multiple live-fire evolutions as part of this course.
