Advanced Swiftwater/Flood Rescue Technician course is a 24-hour course that is designed to meet NFPA 1006 (2021 edition) Job Performance Requirements (JPR’s) for Swiftwater/Floodwater Rescue Technician not met in Swiftwater/Floodwater Rescue Technician, specifically integrating Rope Rescue techniques for the Swiftwater/Flood environment.

At the end of this course, the student will have:
• Knowledge of hazards & risks in Swiftwater/flood rescue.
• Knowledge of hazards & risk in night operations in Swiftwater flood rescue.
• Knowledge & skills for advanced Swiftwater/Flood rescue situations such as Vehicle rescue
        in moving water and nighttime Swiftwater rescue operations.
• Knowledge & skills in Rope Rescue skills for Swiftwater/Flood situations.
• Knowledge & skills in Highline Rope Rescue systems in the Swiftwater Rescue environment

Pre-Requisite
       Completion of Swiftwater/Flood Rescue
       Completion of Rope Rescue Operations

Enrollment priority will be given to members of the Gates Fire District.

All student registrations will be reviewed by the Office of Fire Prevention and Control with enrollment approvals sent to students NO LATER THAN 2 weeks prior to the start of the class. Registration does not guarantee a seat in the class. If you are accepted into this course, you will receive a confirmation email from the Center.
