Brief Description: New York State Police Undercover School (07-19-030)

Full Description: This course is the Uncover Narcotics Operations School held by the New York State Police. The course consists of two weeks training: classroom training at the NYSP Academy followed by reality-based scenario training held at the State Preparedness Training Center.

After completion, members will be expected o undergo special assignment for four weeks with their Troop VGNET Unit for a field training program, in which they will do actual undercover work.

Resources Required: Casual Business Attire or Class A uniform is required for classroom at the Academy.

Scenario training requires casual streetwear appropriate for undercover work, as well as body armor, handcuffs, raid jackets, duty belt and/or issued holster, flashlight, foul weather gear and street clothes including long sleeve shirt.

Attendees may bring their own safety equipment not limited to safety glasses, gloves, groin protection, etc., however all personally owned equipment is subject to approval by the site safety officers.

Reporting Instructions: Scenario training  at the State Preparedness Training Center will be held from 1:00 pm on Monday through Noon on Friday.
Attendance on ALL days,  is required.

No Show Policy
Failure to attend a class you have registered for can result in restriction on future course attendance and agency notification. If you have not received a confirmation or denial two weeks prior to the course date, please contact DHSES, SPTC at (315) 768-5689 or SPTC.INFO@dhses.ny.gov

Lodging

Lodging will be provided for eligible public sector personnel.

You are eligible for lodging if your residence and official workstation are more than 50 miles from the SPTC and you are public sector personnel.  Lodging is not available for federal employees or private industry participants.  If you are eligible, you will be sent an email with lodging instructions prior to the start of the course. You must be enrolled in the course and have received lodging approval from the SPTC before arriving at the Center, or your lodging will not be covered, and you will not be allowed in the class.

Cost
There is NO FEE for this course.  Lunch will be provided.  Travel and all other meals are the responsibility of the course participant. Lodging will be provided for eligible public sector personnel - see details below

Registration:  All student registrations will be reviewed by the SPTC with approvals sent to students NO LATER THAN 2 weeks prior to the start of the class.  Registration does not guarantee a seat in the class.  If you are accepted into this course, you will receive a confirmation email from the Center.
