Brief Description: AWR-330 helps participants identify and understand the resources within their communities.

Full Description: Description
Through guided discussions, individual and group activities, the AWR-330 Whole Community Emergency Management Planning Course helps participants identify and better understand the stakeholders and resources within their communities. Students will learn to develop strategies to better incorporate stakeholders into their emergency planning process, with a goal of increasing individual, community, and national resilience to all hazards.

Course Objectives:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
-Describe how involving the Whole Community into Emergency Management Planning leads to more resilient and better prepared communities.
-Explain the importance of preparedness activities in the context of comprehensive emergency management planning and whole community inclusive planning.
-Develop methods for engaging all parts of the community and strengthening what works well on a daily basis.

Prerequisites:
You must be a US Citizen to take this course. If you are not please let us know by email for further instruction at OEM.TRAINING@DHSES.NY.GOV
All participants must have a FEMA Student Identification (FEMA SID) number. Students can search for their existing/create a new FEMA SID at: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/.

Cost:
There is no fee for the course. Food, lodging, and transportation costs are the responsibility of the participant.

Course Completion:
Participants who actively participate and attend all course contact hours will receive a Certificate of Attendance for the course.
