THIS IS A VIRTUAL ONLINE BASED COURSE OFFERING.

The goal of this professional development course, E/L/G 0191 Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface, is to enable the students to develop an effective interface between the Incident Command/Unified Command and the Emergency Operations Center by applying National Incident Management System principles.  

Course Objectives:
-Explain the course structure and potential ICS/EOC interface challenges.
-Explain key NIMS concepts, command and coordination systems, and structures.
-Analyze given scenarios to determine commonalities and potential interface issues between
  ICS and EOCs.
-Explain the respective roles and interconnectivity of the NIMS command and coordination
  systems in coordination.
-Contrast the typical role and functions of the Incident Command and the EOC during
emergency operations.
-Analyze given scenarios to apply ICS/EOC interface concepts.
Develop an ICS/EOC interface action plan for your community.
Summarize the course objectives.

Target Audience: The target audience for this course includes federal, state, tribal, territorial, local level, private industry, volunteer and nongovernmental emergency management personnel who are active in a community's ICS and EOC activities. This course works best when delivered to combined audience of ICS and EOC personnel. The materials were developed with the assumption that audience members may have little or no actual experience as a member of an Incident Command Post staff or an EOC Staff.

Prerequisites:
IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System
IS-200: IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response OR IS-2200: Basic Emergency Operations Center Functions
IS-700: National Incident Management System (NIMS)
IS-800: National Response Framework

Cost: There is no fee for the course. Food, lodging, and transportation costs are the responsibility of the participant.
Course Completion Requirements: Participants who actively participate and attend all course contact hours will receive a Certificate of Completion for the course.
