Description:
This course uses a series of drills designed to reinforce the skills of emergency responders, who have received training in the use of radiation detection instruments. This course is applicable to both the prevent and response mission areas.
CTOS provides instruments for training purposes; attendees are encouraged to bring their own department’s instruments if possible. This course uses sealed radioactive sources to provide realism.

Objectives:
-Demonstrate the required tasks for the radiation detection equipment used during the training evolutions, as identified on the equipment Job Performance Requirements (JPRs) for each detection instrument.
-Using assigned detection instrument(s) and Participant Instrument Supplement(s), Participants will meet the JPRs for the equipment.

Target Audience:
Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Governmental Administrative, Healthcare, Hazardous Materials, Public Health, Citizen/Community Volunteer, and other personnel who may be assigned radiological detection operations.

Prerequisites:
