Description:
The purpose of this course is to prepare executive and senior leadership within institutions of higher education and the community for their roles to support the management of a crisis that utilizes the effective and efficient application and implementation of a whole community approach as described in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The course has specific emphasis on the unique aspects of response to a crisis at institutions of higher education.

Course Objectives:
-Discuss key considerations and conflicts during a crisis within the framework of higher education.
-Discuss different leadership styles and specific decision making strategies to the management of crisis involving institutions of higher education.
-Discuss executive and senior leadership roles in the areas of prevention, protection, and mitigation during a crisis at institutions of higher education.
-Discuss executive and senior leadership roles in response to a crisis at institutions of higher education.
-Discuss executive and senior leadership roles in continuity of operations and recovery during a crisis at institutions of higher education
