Brief Description: This course will enable senior staff to operate efficiently during an incident or event within ICS.

Full Description: Description:
This course is designed to enable senior staff personnel to operate efficiently during an incident or event within the Incident Command System (ICS).  This course focuses on management of expanding incidents and was developed under the leadership of the NWCG and complies with the NIMS/HSPD-5 requirements for Incident Command System training.

Objectives:
1. Describe how the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Command and Management component supports the management of expanding incidents.
2. Describe the incident/event management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed in the ICS.
3. Implement the incident management process on a simulated Type 3 incident.
4. Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.

Module 1 - Course Overview
Module 2 - ICS Fundamentals Review
Module 3 - Incident/Event Assessment & Incident Objectives
Module 4 - Unified Command
Module 5 - Incident Resource Management
Module 6 - Planning Process
Module 7 - Demobilization, Transfer of Command, & Closeout

Target Audience:
Individuals who may assume a supervisory/management role in expanding (Type 3) incidents. Persons likely to assume these ICS supervisory positions would include Emergency Management, Fire Service, Law Enforcement, EMS, Healthcare, Education, Military, & Volunteer organizations active in disaster. Prerequisite:
-IS0100: Introduction to the Incident Command System
-IS0200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
-IS0700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
-IS0800: National Response Framework, An Introduction

Cost:
There is no fee for the course. Food, lodging & transportation costs are the responsibility of the participant.

Completion:
Participants, who actively participate, attend all course contact hours and pass a written test will receive a certificate of completion for the course.
