Full Description
This course provides information and skills to perform advanced rope rescue techniques in a natural or man-made environment. The overall objective is to improve rescuer awareness of the safety concerns at rope rescue situations and to develop advanced skills in high angle rescue techniques and systems. Topics include ascending, traversing, pickoffs, knot passing, team operations, advanced litter packaging, use of artificial high directionals, rigging and lowering as well as horizontal and high/ low tensioned systems. The program also introduces the use of Dual Capability Two Tensioned Rope Systems (DCTTRS).  This program also includes written testing as well as skills evaluation.
