Ground Support Unit Leader Workshop
Full Description
This course is designed to prepare students to perform the duties of managing the transportation plan, maintenance and related services at an incident. Topics include gathering information about the assignment; organizing, staffing, and laying out the unit; field inspection of equipment; operation and coordination of the unit with other units, and demobilization.

Target Audience:
NIMS ICS Position Specific training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to functional, support, or unit leader positions on USFA or other Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Teams (AHIMT), or by those persons who desire to seek credentials/certification in those positions.

Lodging:
Lodging will be provided on the nights of May 6, 7, 2024 if your residence and official workstation are more than 50 miles from the training center, and you are a state or local agency employee from New York. Lodging is not available for federal employees or private industry participants.
You must request lodging at the time of training registration. If approved for lodging, you will receive an email with further instructions. Students should not reserve a room without receiving proper approval from the SPTC first. Or your lodging will not be covered, and you will not be allowed in the class.

Cost:
There is NO FEE for this course. Lunch will be provided. Travel and all other meals are the responsibility of the course participant.

Course Completion Requirements:
It is mandatory that the participant complete all 16 hours of this course to receive full credit. Anything less will result in the participant’s need to re-register for another course and start from the beginning.
